SMHA COACHING FINES POLICY

Background:
Hockey Saskatchewan requires all registered team officials (head coaches, assistant coaches, on-ice volunteers, trainers, stick persons) to obtain their required coach certifications and/or courses by December 20^th each season.  Team officials who do not obtain their required certifications and/or courses by the deadline are subject to a fine of $100 per transgression.

The $100 fine per transgression is comprised of a $50.00 fine from Hockey Saskatchewan and a matched $50.00 fine from Saskatoon Minor Hockey.  The $50.00 SMHA fine is donated to SMHA’s Memorial Cup Legacy Fund.

Repeat Offenders:

• Registered team officials who are fined for the same transgression two seasons in a row will be fined $200.00 for each transgression and will be ineligible to coach the next season until the required clinics and/or courses are completed.
