Membership Requirements & Fees

Requirements:

  • Shall be registered and in good standing with the Referees Division of Hockey Saskatchewan
  • Shall be a resident of Saskatoon or reside within SMHA boundaries as set out by Hockey Saskatchewan or reside in one of SMHA'S Interlock partner communities - Clavet, Delisle, Martensville or Warman.
  • Shall be 12 years of age or older
  • Shall supply a Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector search at the official's expense to Hockey Saskatchewan if age 18 and older.  A new CRC letter is required every three seasons by Hockey Saskatchewan.
     

SMHA Referees Division Fees

For the 2023-24 hockey season the fees are:  

-  Hockey Saskatchewan Clinic and Insurance Fees - paid to Hockey Sask when registering for the online modules.

Level 1 & 2 (Age 17 & Under)  $60.00 w/o HC Participation Fee (Also registered with an SHA sanctioned team as a player or coach

Level 2 & 3 (18 & Older) $110.00 w/o HC Participation Fee (Also registered with a Hockey Saskatchewan sanctioned team as a player or coach)
$158.00 w/ HC Participation Fee 
Member High Performance $213.00 w/o HC Participation Fee (Also registered with a Hockey Saskatchewan sanctioned team as a player of coach)
$165.00 w/ HC Participation Fee 
National High Performance $233.00 w/o HC Participation Fee (Also registered with a Hockey Saskatchewan sanctioned team as a player of coach)
$185.00 w/ HC Participation Fee 

-SMHA Development Fee - $10 per official - will be deducted on an annual basis from the first or second honorarium payment of each official. This fee is used to assist with the cost of ice time for referee training days, e-transfer costs, as well as the cost of mentors and supervisors.
