Saskatoon Minor Hockey Association

Registration Information

The Saskatoon Minor Hockey Association (SMHA) offers a variety of hockey programs for children and young adults from age five to 21 years of age. The SMHA consists of six geographic hockey zones along with a city-wide female hockey association and a city-wide Tier 1 hockey program which are used for player registration and team competition.

Registration Rules

Registration dates, locations, and times for all eight (8) zones under the SMHA can be found on the home page of the SMHA website under Latest News or News Archive. Information can also be found on the next tab in the drop-down menu on the left of the website (under Registration tab).

Initiation through Bantam players not registering in their zone by September 10, 2012 MUST register through the SMHA office and will be placed on a team by the SMHA Registration Committee subject to availability. The deadline for Midget and Junior C players to register directly into their zone is September 20, 2012.

All efforts will be made to place the player within their home zone but this cannot be guaranteed for late registrants (after the dates above).  The zone with the greatest need for players will receive players when necessary.

If a player is placed by the SMHA Registration Committee on a team in a zone other than the zone where the player resides with his/her parent(s), that player will be assigned to a team of a no higher level than Tier III. Goaltenders are EXEMPT from this rule.

WELCOME TO THE SMHA!!
